Seqenta – Cookie & Browser Storage Policy
Effective Date: 21/08/2026
This Cookie & Browser Storage Policy explains how Seqenta Ltd (“Seqenta”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you access or use the Seqenta website and platform (the “Services”).
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Capitalised terms used but not defined in this Policy (including “Services”) have the meanings given to them in our Terms of Service.
1. What are cookies and browser storage?
Cookies are small files or pieces of information stored on your device by a website. They are commonly used to maintain secure sessions, remember preferences and support website functionality.
Seqenta also uses certain browser storage technologies, including local storage and session storage. These allow limited information to be stored within your browser for functionality such as remembering interface preferences or temporarily retaining navigation and viewing state.
This policy describes cookies and browser storage together because both may involve information being stored on your device and are used by Seqenta primarily to provide and support the Services.
2. Cookies used by Seqenta
Seqenta currently uses strictly necessary authentication cookies. These cookies are required to enable secure sign-in and maintain your authenticated session.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| appSession | Maintains your authenticated session and stores session information in encrypted form. Where necessary, the cookie may be split into multiple parts due to browser cookie size limits. | After 30 minutes of inactivity and, in any event, no more than 8 hours from sign-in | First-party |
| auth_verification | Supports the secure sign-in process and helps protect against interception and request-forgery attacks. | Deleted when sign-in is completed | First-party |
These authentication cookies are configured with appropriate security attributes, including HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax, where applicable. Because these cookies are strictly necessary for providing the authenticated Services you have requested, they cannot be disabled if you wish to sign in and use your Seqenta account.
3. Analytics and performance measurement
Seqenta uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how the website and platform are being used and to monitor page performance.
Based on the current configuration, these services:
- do not use cookies;
- do not store information on your device;
- do not create or transmit a persistent identifier for you or your device; and
- are not used by Seqenta to create individual user profiles.
When a page is requested, technical information such as your IP address and browser user-agent may necessarily be processed as part of establishing the connection. This information is used for purposes including aggregate traffic measurement and service performance and is not combined with your Seqenta account to create a user profile.
Seqenta does not currently use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising cookies, remarketing cookies or other advertising or tracking tags.
4. Local storage
When you use the Seqenta application while signed in, we may use local storage in your browser to remember certain interface preferences that you have selected.
Currently, this includes:
| Storage item | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| portfolio_view | Remembers whether you last viewed your portfolio as a list, grid or map | Until cleared from your browser |
| sidebar-collapsed | Remembers whether you collapsed the application navigation sidebar | Until cleared from your browser |
These items contain interface settings rather than account or authentication information. They remain in your browser until you clear the relevant browser storage.
5. Session storage
Seqenta may also use session storage to temporarily retain navigation and viewing state while you use the application.
This may include:
| Storage item | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| view-state:portfolio:v1 | Temporarily retains portfolio filters, scroll position and loaded rows | Until the browser tab is closed or 30 minutes, whichever occurs first |
| view-state:companies-search:v1 | Temporarily retains company search filters, scroll position and loaded results | Until the browser tab is closed or 30 minutes, whichever occurs first |
| view-state:news-feed:v1 | Temporarily retains the news feed information already loaded during your session | Until the browser tab is closed or 30 minutes, whichever occurs first |
| app-last-route | Records the last application page visited for navigation purposes | Until the browser tab is closed |
| app-last-route-label | Records the display name of the last application page for navigation purposes | Until the browser tab is closed |
Session storage is automatically cleared when the relevant browser tab is closed.
6. Information temporarily held in your browser
The Seqenta news feed may temporarily retain information already loaded during your session so that navigation within the application can occur without unnecessarily reloading the entire feed. This may include information relating to Events and companies contained within your portfolio.
Such information is held temporarily in your browser's session storage and is discarded when the relevant browser tab is closed or after 30 minutes, whichever occurs first.
This browser-held information is not used by Seqenta for analytics and is not separately shared with third parties for that purpose.
7. Third-party content and services
Certain pages or features may request content or resources from third-party providers.
Based on the current configuration:
- Google Fonts may receive your IP address when Seqenta requests fonts from its service. Google Fonts does not set a Seqenta cookie as part of this use.
- OpenStreetMap may receive your IP address when you use the portfolio map and map content is requested from its service. OpenStreetMap does not set a Seqenta cookie as part of this use.
These third-party services operate independently of Seqenta and may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.
Seqenta may change the third-party services used to provide or support the Services. Where such changes materially affect the use of cookies or similar technologies, this policy will be updated as appropriate.
8. Managing cookies and browser storage
You can clear cookies, local storage and session storage through your browser settings. Clearing strictly necessary authentication cookies may sign you out of Seqenta and may prevent you from accessing authenticated features until you sign in again. Clearing local or session storage may reset interface preferences or temporarily stored navigation and viewing information.
Browser settings can therefore be used to control or remove information stored on your device. However, because Seqenta's currently identified cookies are strictly necessary for authentication, disabling them may prevent you from using your Seqenta account.
9. Governing Law
This Policy, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it (including non-contractual disputes or claims), is governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie & Browser Storage Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Services, technologies we use, legal requirements or our data-processing practices. Where appropriate, we will notify you of material changes through the website or platform.
The Effective Date shown at the beginning of this policy indicates when it was most recently updated.
